A Bunny Shaw hat-trick and further strikes from Aoba Fujino and Iman Beney moved City back to the top of the WSL table.
It was a special day for Shaw, who marked her 150th City appearance with a ninth WSL hat-trick.
The Jamaican fired home the opener with a smart finish across goal, before making it two with a powerful header soon after the restart.
MATCH REPORT: CITY 5-0 WEST HAM
Fujino made it three on the hour with an impressive solo effort, before setting up substitute Beney for a fourth.
Shaw then completed the scoring with her final touch before being substituted late on, picking up Grace Clinton’s pass and firing home her 12th WSL goal this season.
With Chelsea being held to a 1-1 draw by Everton, the win was enough to move us top of the WSL at the expense of the Londoners ahead of next Saturday’s meeting at Stamford Bridge.
