Marc Guéhi and Antoine Semenyo spent the 90 minutes as opponents as England and Ghana drew 0-0 in their World Cup Group L clash in Boston.

Nico O’Reilly was a second-half substitute for England, while James Trafford remained unused for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Both teams found it difficult to create chances against stubborn and well marshalled defences, with England dominating possession and Ghana seeking to catch the Three Lions on the break.

O’Reilly perhaps had England’s best chance of all with just a few minutes to go, ghosting into the box and crashing a header against the crossbar.

After opening round victories, both England and Ghana have four points and appear handily placed to progress to the Round of 32.

Group L comes to a close with 22:00 (UK) kick-offs this Saturday, when England face Panama and Ghana go up against Croatia.

Earlier in the day, Ruben Dias played the whole game as Portugal beat Abdukodir Khusanov’s Uzbekistan 5-0 in their Group K meeting in Houston.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a first-half brace either side of Nuno Mendes’ free-kick for Portugal, who dominated possession from the start.

Uzbekistan thought they had a route back into the game at 2-0 down through a fierce Azizjon Ganiev strike but it was eventually chalked off for a foul on former City man Joao Cancelo.

Khusanov made an acrobatic goal line clearance at the very end of the first half but Portugal had a fourth when he diverted a low corner into his own goal.

The result was complete when Rafael Leao hammered home in the 88th minute.

Matheus Nunes was an unused substitute for Portugal.

It leaves Portugal on four points from their first two games, while Uzbekistan are yet to pick up a point.

Victory for DR Congo over Colombia through the night would see Uzbekistan out.

Portugal will complete their Group K schedule against Colombia in a 00:30 (UK) kick-off on Sunday 28 June, while Uzbekistan will play DR Congo at the exact same time.

We’ll have a roundup from every game at this summer’s World Cup involving City players, shortly after it concludes.
