Pep Guardiola says weeks such as the one ahead are why he loves being a manager.

City have a huge eight days coming up, starting at Chelsea tomorrow, then followed by a trip to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, rounding off at Anfield against Liverpool a week on Sunday.

 

But City boss is relishing the prospect.

“Every year I get the idea that the Premier League is harder than before. It’s really tough. An incredible challenge for us.

City take on Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea tomorrow for the first time since last season’s Champions League final.

 

City had previously lost in the FA Cup and Premier League to the West Londoners, but Pep says Saturday’s clash is a new sheet of paper.

 

“We played a great Champions League final. We lost, but we played a great final,” said the Catalan.

 

“We missed a little bit to be precise in the final third. We lost the second ball and their transition was so good.

 

“They’re structure defensively is so good and they have physicality.

 

“My impression is that we were really good. We played with courage and personality. Unfortunately on counter attacks they were better and they beat us.”
