Once A Blue and their Thrive Initiative aims to connect former City players since their retirement from the professional game.
A cross between tennis and squash, padel can be as gentle and as competitive as you want it to be, which makes it a very accessible sport for all ages and abilities.
And in the latest event, former players such as Ian and David Brightwell, Gary Jackson, Michael Brown, Gary Owen and more swapped the football pitch for the padel court at Pure Padel Stockport.
Congratulations to former Blue Michael Brown for winning the runners-up trophy, coming second only to tournament winner Joe Eaton. Michael is a big padel fan and, displayed plenty of skill, athleticism and enthusiasm...not unlike his footballing days!
From coffee catch-ups to dynamic duos on the court, it was a great day for the Once A Blue organisation.
