Elite Development Squad Lead Coach Oliver Reiss said City’s Under-19s side can learn a lot from our 2-1 victory over RB Leipzig in the UEFA Youth League.

It proved to be a dominant display for City at the Red Bull Arena as we controlled proceedings and deservedly took the lead when Teddie Lamb poked home on 53 minutes.

Dexter Oliver scored from the penalty spot soon after with the young Blues in a comfortable position 10 minutes into the second-half.

But the hosts would fire back a response through Israel Ogette and pushed for a leveller in the final minutes.

Speaking at full-time, Reiss explained his pride in the way we dealt with the pressure towards the end of the game.

“I already know that the last situation where Dexter Oliver was blocking and the whole team was celebrating in a way like he scored in this moment,” he said.

“I will definitely take this into one of the preps for the next games.

“Because first of all it’s all about the passion and desire of in this case the defending and that’s why sometimes you can take more out of a win like this compared to a comfortable 5-0.”
