City looked much more ourselves in the second 45 despite Ena Mahmutovic’s penalty save from Bunny Shaw just after the hour and deservedly drew level through Carlotta Wamser late on.
Coffey feels we could’ve come away with more after a strong second half showing, but ultimately says we can hold our head high against a side yet to taste defeat on home soil in 16 matches at this stage in the competition.
“Beth’s goal changed momentum going into half-time. We connected better and were more front footed in the second half,” the midfielder reflected.
“So it was huge to take that into half-time and continue to turn the game around.
“The half-time message was that we were in a good situation. We don’t want to concede two goals but we have to continue where we left off, and were in a good spot.
“We wanted to win the game so we’re disappointed we didn’t do, that but to come away from a really tough place with a draw is something we should be proud of.”

But Mead’s strike on the stroke of half-time turned the game on its head, with lively cameos from Laura Blindkilde Brown, Mary Fowler and Grace Clinton eventually helping us earn a share of the spoils.
