The Australia international helped City put on an impressive performance as we beat Villa 4-1, making us the only Barclays Women’s Super League team to maintain a 100%-win record in the opening two weeks of 2026/27.
Fowler scored our first in a 3-1 win over Birmingham last weekend and she carried on her form in front of goal at Villa Park, scoring City’s second of the night after quick link-up with Lauren Hemp and Bunny Shaw.

The 23-year-old has worked tirelessly to return to full fitness following an ACL injury that kept her out for almost a year.
But she certainly looks like she’s back to providing her best for the squad.
“It was good,” said Fowler when asked for her thoughts on City earning back-to-back wins.
“I feel like we just keep on building each game which feels good.
“Individually as well like I feel like I’m getting more and more momentum which is nice. So happy with the performance tonight. I think even from the first half to the second we built from that. So I think we’re in a good place.
“I am,” Fowler added when asked if she is enjoying her football.
“I’ve been saying in a lot of interviews that I don’t feel fully myself yet since the ACL and I was giving myself the time to feel that. And I think tonight is the first night where I actually feel a lot more myself which is a good feeling.
“I think I’m such an instinctual kind of player and I think fitness is probably part of that as well.
“I love to problem solve out on the field and I think if my fitness isn’t up there then my thinking is slower.
“But I feel like things are aligning now and it’s getting to a place now where I can just enjoy my football. I think mostly it’s a feeling thing. Feeling like myself out there so it’s nice to have that back.”
City now sit top of the WSL table with six points, with five teams sitting two behind us.
It’s been an excellent start to our title defence, but Fowler was quick to state that the team will maintain a level head for what is a long campaign ahead.
“It’s a good feeling [to be top of the table],” said Fowler.
“Honestly that is where we want to be. But it’s a long season so we are just taking it game by game.
“Even though we got the win tonight, there is still stuff that as a team we’d like to build on. It’s a good place to be in but we won’t get ahead of ourselves.”
