Cherki up for Premier League Goal of the Month award

Rayan Cherki has been nominated for the Guinness Goal of the Month for August.

Our French playmaker scored a quite wonderful individual effort away to Crystal Palace, beating several defenders with his exquisite close control before poking the ball past Dean Henderson.

Already surely a contender for the goal of the season, Rayan is up against Emerson of Ipswich Town, Nilson Angulo of Sunderland, Keane Lewis-Potter and Kevin Schade of Brentford, Newcastle duo Joe Willock and Anthony Elanga plus Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.

Voting is now open and the winner will be announced at 13:00 (UK) on 11 September.
