New signing Ayyoub Bouaddi says he’s excited about his future at Manchester City after completing his move to the Etihad Stadium.

The 18-year-old midfielder joins from French side Lille on a deal that will keep him at the Club until 2031.

Bouaddi is one of the most exciting teenagers in world football after impressing in Ligue 1 before showing his huge quality at the World Cup with Morocco.

Ahead of completing the transfer, he said he knows that City expects to be always challenging for silverware and, with so much potential, he is excited to be part of a big future.

“We discussed a lot of things and the future also because this is why I’m here – for the future,” he said in his first interview as a City player.

“We know that in the great club we need to win. We are going to see what’s going to happen. What’s important is that I’m going to give 100%, be always here for the team and then it’s the future.

“I think here the most important [thing] is to win. In a big club you need to win and this is all that we are going to do. We are going to give 100% to achieve all of our goals.”

The Moroccan international is also looking forward to getting started after taking a tour of the City Football Academy and meeting his new team-mates.

He is excited about playing at the Etihad for the first time as well as experiencing his new life in Manchester.

“From what I see, I think Manchester is a great city,” he added. “A bit similar to Lille.

“I also like the people here. I often say that what makes a city beautiful is the people and I see that all the people here are really nice, really kind and I really appreciate it.

“When you come into a new Club I think the most important [thing] is to meet the new players, the new staff but also the fans.

“They are the one who are going to cheer for you, give 100%, travel for you so I can’t wait to see them and make them proud as well.”

Born in France, Bouaddi said he watched City’s extraordinary success over the past decade.

He also revealed that he dreamed of playing in the Premier League and is delighted to have signed with the best side of the past 10 years.

“I grew up with Manchester City under Guardiola – when he arrived and what he did was just amazing,” Bouaddi said.

“But then we know that City is one of the greatest clubs in the world with the best players, best team, the campus. Everything is done to perform here and do the best.

“I think the Premier League is the most attractive and most competitive championship in the world. The best championship in the world.

“So every player dreams to play in the Premier League and I hope I am going to play in the Premier League very soon, as soon as possible.”
