The 29-year-old defender had the most defensive contributions of anyone on the pitch, including seven clearances.
That built the platform for Joao Cancelo, Goncalo Ramos, Vitinha and Joao Felix to score the goals for Jorge Jesus’ side.
Meanwhile, Erling Haaland’s Norway fell to a 2-1 defeat to Wales in Cardiff after playing almost the entire second half with 10 men.
Former City man Oscar Bobb put Norway in the lead before Daniel James and Neco Williams turned it around.
Both games were part of Group 4 in League A of the UEFA Nations League, with Portugal now top on nine points and all three other sides on three each.
Dias and Haaland will round out this international window by facing each other in Porto on Sunday evening.
Earlier in the day, Abdukodir Khusanov played 85 minutes for Uzbekistan as they beat Syria 4-1 in a friendly in Tashkent.
Our man kept the visitors out while he was in the pitch, with Syria’s consolation strike coming after he had been substituted.
We’ll have roundups from all matches involving City players throughout the ongoing international break.
