Four Manchester City players have been named in the 2025/26 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Premier League Team of the Year.

Nico O’Reilly, Antoine Semenyo, Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland were all selected for the prestigious annual XI, voted for by their fellow professionals.  

The four all made key individual contributions across a season that saw the Club lift both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. 

For O’Reilly, the 25/26 campaign marked a truly stellar breakthrough season for one of the most talented players to have emerged from City’s Academy. 

Proving equally adept either at left-back or in a more advanced midfield role, O’Reilly emerged as one of the key figures as City claimed that notable Cup double. 

Indeed, it was O’Reilly’s memorable brace that secured a superb 2-0 League Cup final win over Arsenal with the 21-year-old going on to make 53 appearances across all competitions and represent England at the 2026 World Cup finals. 

Having already been voted the Premier League Young Player of the Season and Manchester City Player of the Season for 2025/26, O’Reilly’s impact was further illustrated by him also being afforded the huge accolade of being voted the PFA Young Player of the Year at Tuesday night’s awards ceremony held in Manchester.

Semenyo meanwhile more than hit the ground running after making the move to City from Bournemouth in last January’s transfer window. 

Having already enjoyed an outstanding first half of the season with the Cherries, if anything the Ghanaian winger kicked on even more after joining City. 

An electrifying presence on either wing, Semenyo also demonstrated a knack of delivering on the biggest occasions, a point amply illustrated in the 2026 FA Cup final where his incredible back flick secured a 1-0 win over Chelsea. 

A tally of 21 goals from 48 appearances allied to six assists bore testament to Semenyo’s key impact. 

French midfield maverick Rayan Cherki was another to enjoy a superb maiden campaign at the Etihad. 

Having joined City from Lyon in June 2025, Cherki quickly established himself as a huge fans’ favourite with his vision, audacious skill and ability to conjure moments of magic repeatedly catching the eye. 

Cherki also proved a crucial game changer on numerous occasions. 

Amongst his standout moments were an outrageous Rabona assist for Phil Foden in a 3-0 home win over Sunderland along with a mesmerising individual strike in last April’s 2-1 Etihad triumph against Arsenal. 

Last but by no means least, Erling Haaland was also named in the PFA PL Team of the Year. 

It’s the third time City’s Norwegian master marksman has been named in the prestigious eleven following his inclusion in both 2022/23 and 2023/24 and follows what was another remarkable individual campaign. 

The 26-year-old plundered 38 club goals in total – including 27 in the Premier League – to claim a third Golden Boot award. 

Director of Football Hugo Viana said it was a source of huge pride to have the City quartet included in the prestigious team.
