Celebrating another standout season from City's midfield maestro, Yui Hasegawa, in 2025/26.

The Japan international has been one of the Blues’ most consistent performers since joining the Club in 2022, and was once again crucial to our success last season.

A subtle shift in Andrée Jeglertz’s system allowed her greater attacking freedom, and Hasegawa ended the WSL campaign with the most successful through balls (9) and most open play sequences ending with a shot (37) in the entire division.

But Hasegawa didn’t neglect her defensive responsibilities, still making the second most interceptions in the WSL across 2025/26 as City marched to the title.

Already rightly considered one of the finest midfielders in world football, last year Yui was finally able to add silverware to the swathe of individual awards she’s picked up while at City.

Tenacious off the ball, balletic on it, Hasegawa remains one of the most influential players in the Blues’ squad with only Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw featuring more times across the campaign.

And with Yui signing a new contract at the start of last season through to 2029, City fans can enjoy much more of the Japan international in the years to come!
