Lauren Hemp is set to reach another incredible milestone this afternoon in our WSL opener against Birmingham City.

The winger has been named in City’s starting line-up, meaning she will become only the fourth player in our history to make 200 appearances in our professional era.

Joining the Club in May 2018, the England international is the longest serving player in the current squad and has won six major honours in seven full seasons at City.

She’s enjoyed some truly iconic moments during that time, including stunning strikes in the Manchester derby at both Old Trafford and the Etihad Stadium.

Her stunning acrobatic backheel goal against Leicester City in 2023/24 is another standout moment among a swathe of phenomenal performances from the 26-year-old.

With 74 goals to her name, only Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has found the net more times than Hemp in our professional era, while she’s also second in the all-time assist charts for the WSL.

Those qualities have also translated onto the international scene, where Lauren has been a key figure in two European Championship-winning squads with England in 2022 and 2025.

A true modern great, Hemp’s 200-appearance milestone is yet another remarkable moment in a career which keeps getting better and better.
