Two of the best teams showcased incredible talent in the opening 45 minutes which saw the teams head into the break on level terms after goals from Arsenal’s Lisa Baum and City’s Lauren Hemp.
The Gunners took the lead once again early in the second half with an Alessia Russo strike.
But the Barclays Women’s Super League champions would not roll over.
With her first touch of the game, substitute Kerstin Casparij fired a sublime finish around Anneke Borbe before Hemp nudged City ahead for the first time.Â
With less than 10 minutes to play, Renee Slegers’ side pushed for an equaliser.Â
But, City showcased our hunger to make the net bulge again with Bunny Shaw scoring the final goal of the night to make it five wins from five for the Blues.
