The Catalan will take charge of his final match at the helm of the Blues against Aston Villa on Sunday 24 May – bringing down the curtain on an illustrious decade in Manchester.
Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2016, he has guided City to 20 major trophies which includes the iconic Centurions campaign in 2017/18, Fourmidables in 2018/19, the Treble in 2022/23 and the Four-In-A-Row triumph of 2023/24.
And in his final pre-match press conference he stated his pride in receiving messages of congratulations from former rivals and past players.
“I know I had incredible success in my time as a manager and it’s nice to be there,” he said.
“One of the biggest compliments I had is to get a message from Sir Alex Ferguson a few days ago, a message from Kevin De Bruyne today, a message from Manu Akanji.
“That is the reason that makes me feel happy and fortunate. These debates [about the best of all time] aren’t important. I have been happy doing my job, Barca, Bayern and here and I did my best, I gave everything until the last drop of what I have.
“I am leaving with an incredible sense of peace in my soul. And people have enjoyed what I have done here. But many people are involved in that.”
