Matheus Nunes developed his position at right-back and enjoyed another great season.

Despite being a midfielder by trade, the 27-year-old developed into one of the Premier League’s best right-backs during 2025/26.

He claimed seven assists which are testament to his attacking contribution in a campaign where he went from strength to strength.

A key moment was winning a penalty at Anfield which allowed Erling Haaland to secure a 2-1 win against Liverpool, while on an individual level his only goal of the season which came against Burnley would also stand out.

Nunes fired home a brilliant 12-yard volley to restore our advantage at the Etihad as his a ferocious effort rifled into the roof of the net.

His form was so impressive that it earnt him a place in Portugal’s World Cup squad and

He will no doubt go on to improve tenfold at right-back for club and country in 2026/27.
