Enzo Maresca was happy to be able to rotate his starting line-up and come up away with another three points following our 3-2 victory over Ipswich.

The City boss became the first in Premier League history to win his first seven matches as we extended our run to seven wins out of seven.

Ahead of the game, Maresca said it was important to be able to give a rest to some of the players that have featured heavily for their countries during the international break.

He made six changes from the side that played against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek with Matheus Nunes, Nico O’Reilly, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Mateo Kovačić, Phil Foden and Iliman Ndiaye all making a seamless transition into the first team.

“It was very good and I’m very happy for the players,” he told City TV. “The ones that didn’t play a lot and today they started and they were good.”

Victory moved us six points clear at the top of the Premier League table and Maresca says the fans should enjoy being top even though it is early in the season.

“I think the fans can enjoy the table,” he added. “For us as professionals we need to be focused on how we can improve and see how we can do things better.”
