And the key moment came on the stroke of the hour, when Haaland expertly turned Gvardiol’s cross home.
A three-minute VAR check followed with the officials eventually deciding the Norwegian’s goal could stand.
We weren’t done there and could easily have extended our lead through both Haaland and Enzo Fernández.
It wasn’t needed in the end though, with City taking all three points thanks to the Norwegian’s ninth goal in just 11 Manchester derby appearances.
