The midfield maestro last featured on 13 September, where he was sent off in our 1-0 victory over Manchester United.
After serving his three-match ban, sandwiched between the extended international break, Foden was recalled to today’s starting XI by Enzo Maresca and rewarded the boss with a goal after just 19 minutes - a feat which the Italian had predicted in his pre-match press conference.
Ipswich hit back instantly, before Erling Haaland’s double put us in a commanding position.

Zian Flemming converted a late penalty but City remained resolute to make it seven wins from seven as Maresca made history by becoming the first Premier League manager to win all seven of their opening fixtures in charge of a club.
When asked about how much he enjoyed his return during his interview with City Studios, Foden said: “So much! I’ve been thinking about this moment and getting back on the pitch and enjoying my football again.
“It’s been such a long time since I last played so I’ve had to just remain patient, keep training very hard and had to wait for my moment today.
“I’m so thankful that I managed to get on the scoresheet and get the three points today.”
Foden also spoke about the tough nature of the top-flight and gave special thanks to Maresca for the faith shown in him.
