City spent more than 70 minutes down to 10 men after Phil Foden’s red card but still came away with all three points thanks to Erling Haaland’s second-half strike.
As well as a determined display off the ball, City could have won by more with big chances for Haaland and Enzo Fernández amongst others.

When the final whistle went, the manager set off running down the touchline to enjoy the moment with the pocket of Blues in one corner of our rivals’ home.
Speaking on Matchday Live later, he made it clear that he knows what a performance like this means.
“The noise from the fans was fantastic. At the end it was emotion for the game with 10 players,” he said.
“The derby is always special for fans, the staff, the players and everyone.
“Overall, it was a good performance. With 11 v 11, we had a gameplan that with the red card completely changed.
“I think it was more difficult for us but also them. With 10 players, we didn’t concede any transitions or space in behind and that’s something they love.”
