The Blues came into a hostile Anfield atmosphere with a 100% winning record in the league this season and showed plenty of grit, fight and spirit to leave with that record still intact, thanks to second-half goals from Erling Haaland, Jérémy Doku and Rayan Cherki.

Anderson, who was named Player of the Match after another wonderful display in midfield, confirmed that the bond inside the City dressing room has never been stronger.
“We’re all so together, more together than ever,” he said in his interview with City Studios after the victory. “And I think we have to be like that.
“We’ve got to stick together. And I think it really brings us together I think.
“It gives you that determination to come out here, everyone is against you, and turn them over, which we did.”
The Englishman also spoke about his personal record of three successive wins at Anfield and touched on our perfect start to the new campaign.
