City Under-18s striker Matty Warhurst says our 6-0 win over Middlesbrough was an important result as we push for the Under-18 Premier League North title.

It was our 20th successive league win with Warhurst getting on the scoresheet twice to take his league tally to 13 in 20 appearances.

That’s a total of six goals in his last five outings in the competition as the 18-year-old looks to play a big role in our title push, with today’s result moving us two wins away from silverware.

“It was a big win, 6-0 in the end. Obviously I’m happy with myself to score two good goals but more importantly, it’s another win and a step closer to the title,” said Warhurst.

“We only have two games left so it was important. The past few days I’ve been in good form and training hard like always so I’m looking forward to our future games and feel in form and ready to go!

“I know it’s a bit boring but I feel like we are going one game at a time.

“We’ve got the FA Youth Cup final coming up and that’s in the future but as a team and management it’s just the next game for now.”
