Divin Mubama’s second half brace proved the difference to help power Ben Wilkinson’s Under-21s into the showpiece final.
Having scored twice in the Round of 16 win over Liverpool and then netted an extra time winner in last weekend’s quarter-final triumph over Arsenal, the centre forward maintained his superb run of form across the play-offs.
After a tight, goalless first half, Mubama it was who broke the deadlock on 66 minutes, heading home from close range after a superb cross from Lakyle Samuel.
With United pressing for a late leveller, Mubama then sealed the deal in injury time, netting again with an impudent back heel to confirm our place in the final where we will play either Crystal Palace or Southampton.
