Teenager Floyd Samba enjoyed a dream debut, bagging a brilliant brace – with fellow debutant Allan also on target - as City began the defence of the Carabao Cup in emphatic fashion.
17-year-old Academy graduate Samba was one of a trio afforded their maiden City starts alongside Gerónimo Rulli and Allan and enjoyed a night to savour by first opening the scoring with a 29th minute header and then bagging a second early in the second half.
Allan more than made his mark too, marking his Etihad with a fine second effort after Rayan Cherki had also struck before the break.
And a late goal from Ryan McAidoo rounded off a night to savour for City.
Our reward is a fourth round tie at home to Brighton.
