City moved three points clear at the top of the Premier League and extended our winning streak to seven games with a hugely entertaining win.
The first half saw five goals with Enzo Fernández and Rayan Cherki twice putting us ahead before Brian Brobbey equalised each time.
Antoine Semenyo struck before the break and got his second after the restart but Brobbey completed his hat-trick to keep Sunderland in the game.
Victory was finally secured with nine minutes remaining when Erling Haaland finished off Joško Gvardiol’s low cross to mean he has now scored against each of the 25 Premier League opponents he has faced.
The win means City are top of the Premier League going into the three-week international break and the only side in the top division with a 100% record.
